Women's Circles

Join us in community and conversation as we collectively read powerful books that explore the complexities of being a woman today and opportunities for empowerment and growth.

Far more like a coaching program and led by a subject-matter expert, Welcome Goddess book clubs are designed to bring structure and actionable wisdom to our reading experience. For seven weeks, we read a portion of a book each week and gather to ask questions, share reflections, and practice what we have learned.

This is not your usual wine-and-cheese, no-one-finished-the-book club!

Whether preparing food, sharing stories, celebrating our cycles and those of nature, honoring our ancestors, or asking for and imparting wisdom, sitting in a safe circle has always been a special way to connect and receive support.

Welcome Goddess brings this potent practice to our community with a variety of different circles.

Each circle is unique and may include a combination of meditation, movement, music-making, ritual, and journaling. A time to connect inward as well as with each other in a deeper way, every circle features candid, honest sharing and conversation.

Women have gathered in sacred circles for millennia.

According to Stephen Aizenstat, Ph.D., the pioneer behind the practice of Dream Tending, "The DNA of both our individual and planetary evolution is encoded in the imagery of our dreams. Dream images not only live within us but exist all around us – in every animal, plant, and object. It is through these images that we find meaning in our life’s journey, shaping who we are and who we are becoming."

Dream Tending is the result of over four decades of Dr. Aizenstat's teaching, research, and application. Katie Smith has had the honor of studying directly with Stephen and completed his Dream Tending certification program.

"Working with dreams has guided me to make life-altering decisions, helped me embody the current process I’m in, and given me access to multi-dimensional realms of support – resources we all have but rarely cultivate," says Katie.

Join Katie for this special 7-week course on Dream Tending, where you will learn practical tools and techniques to remember and work with your dreams. DREAM TENDING CIRCLE

Change can be taxing to our nervous systems – even when it is positive. If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or exhausted, know that you are not crazy. And you are not alone!

This class is a monthly opportunity to gather in sacred community to honor where we are and to support each other on the next steps of our journey. It is an oasis away from the chaos of the outside world where we can tap into our inner power to approach life with more grace and resiliency.

Bring your fears and angst and learn how to transform these energies into something uplifting – for ourselves and others. Joy, laughter and sweetness are welcome too!

Each circle will include introspection, movement, conversation and energy tools to help us move from victim consciousness to heart consciousness.

Tami Lynn Kent wrote, "Grief is a natural and purposeful response to any life-changing event. When it is allowed its expression, it brings a liminal or altered state that reorients a woman's path, inviting her to go deeper within herself."

Come make space for your grief. Learn ways to tend to your grief that you can take home with you. Let's transmute grief through ritual, embodiment, creative expression, and being witnessed in community.

Led by a grief counselor and ritualist who has been running grief circles for more than a decade, this is a safe, loving space that can hold you and your grief with tenderness and open arms.

ALL FORMS OF GRIEF ARE WELCOME. Grief comes in many forms: the loss of a loved one, the loss of identity, the losses of our world and environment, and so much more. Anytime we go through periods of change, we have the potential for grief. We are not meant to grieve in isolation. There is healing that comes from grieving in community.

All genders welcome. Event is limited to 12 participants. Please bring a journal, pen and something if you want to place it on our altar (photo, object, etc.).

This is an invitation to make space for your grief.

Women in particular retreated into caves to bleed and birth, and to perform sacred, even secret rituals. In many traditions, caves were seen as portals to another dimension. Caves today remain home to many of the most ancient and intoxicating paintings of early goddess worship. Many have referred to the cave as “the womb of the earth.”

At Welcome Goddess, we see our studios as sacred spaces for safety and transformation, and we want to honor them with a unique designation. Caves are also dimly lit – just like many of our classes!
Our second entrance is wheelchair accessible, as are our two studios and main bathroom.
